Dana,
After hearing your "terrifying" story about a snake caught under the garage door it reminded me of a story; here is a TRUE story that happened to me:
FLASHBACK
It's 2 weeks ago at about 3:30 and I am playing outside with Dylan and his friends.
We are playing Airsoft (Dana, and Grammy should know about this) and I have caught 3 of the people on the other team and am holding them captive. It was me against like 5, YA, i know totally unfair!! Anyways, I have them pinned against a tree, and the other 2 are trying to run so they don't get caught. All of a sudden, i hear someone screaming BLOODY MURDER!!! They were like "oh my goodness, a snake a snake" and I'm like " no there isn't now get over here".
Well, they finally got me to cave in and i went over there and low and behold a 4 and a half foot snake lay sleeping on a tree limb. Not the tree that my prisoners were on thank God. Anyways, i had a "brilliant" idea to get my airsoft gun and shoot the black off its scales. It had just eaten which was visible by the knot in it's stomach and was taking a mid-Sunday nap. It took at least 200 rounds of ammo to wake the darn thing, and by the time that it did wake up I was almost out of ammo. So there we are all 6 of us looking at this humongous snake like we are all brave souls. I get one of Dylan's friends to get about 10 inches from it and use my last maybe...um...... 50 rounds of ammo to pelt the stupid black varmint. It had already been wide awake and now it was attempting to crawl down the branch with Airsoft BB's bouncing off it's scales and it must have been as mad as a WET HORNET slithering down this branch.
............................................ohhh, i gotta take a break, the suspense is killing me..................................
(continuing) By this time i am already half way down the road to my house while Dylan and Co. are still unloading on the poor snake. Ya, see I'm more afraid of snakes than little kids of Michael Jackson. That is the truth!!!! Anyways I gather up my courage and walk back up to the tree and see that my little brother has managed to lose sight of the snake and has no clue where it is. So, now there is a snake crawling around somewhere half-way up the street.
Sorry this post is so long, but Dana ignited a fire dormant inside of me to retell this horrifying event!!
Ok, so maybe i used the term "brave souls" loosely because me and 5 other able bodies could not keep track of a 4 and 1/2 foot snake that was on a tree limb. Needless to say, i will not be participating in any activities in that part of the street until that little killer is caught. I don't know if i mentioned this, but it was but a "puny"(and i use that term loosely) black snake that made me run right out of my shoes since I was wearing flip-flops.
At least you, Dana, can sleep at night knowing that this "killer" is dead, unlike me.

Grammy:
Grammy, there are a lot more lighthouses in NC, but I couldn't find a picture of all them. We toured the one with the black and white stripes(Cape Hatteras Lighthouse) and it was 257 STEPS and (for those of you who don't know this which includes me) that is equivalent to a 12 STORY building! The view from the top was beautiful, and you could see everything for miles.
It was also biker weekend in the Outer Banks and so that added a little bit of extra NOISE.
This one was for you Grammy, because you love lighthouses.

Ok dana, Tennis 101
for all you people who know about tennis i am sorry, but i have to explain it to a few people who dont(cough, cough, dana, cough).
Step 1: we rank our players by "seeds". our #1 seed will play their #1 seed and our #2 seed will play their #2 seed. and so on and so on.
Step 2: we have 6 singles matches. (our top six players) and 3 doubles matches.
Step 3: we have to win more than 4 matches to win the overall match. ( so if our top six win, we automatically win the whole match). you can win 5-4, 6-3, 7-2,8-1, or 9-0.
Step 4:(Dana, this is where it gets complicated) our #1 doubles team is right now is Me and Katelyn(the girl who was in the picture). she is our #2 seed and i am the #3 seed. Our #2 doubles is our #1 and #4 singles player. so it all just depends on how the coach pairs our doubles teams.
Step 5: when we win all our singles matches, and can't lose, we do not play real #1, #2, #3 doubles teams. that is when we play the "backups" as doubles teams. there are also exhibitions that don't count toward the regular score.
Dana, if you think this is a lot, don't even get me started on score keeping......

By the way, disregard what time my computer said i posted this thing at, it said 4:19am. there is no way i would wake up that early to post a blog

This one's for you Dana (Beenpole)
Okay, Dana:
now I'm on the dark side of cyberspace!!! Cool.
I had a great time in Florida this past week, and it was fun seeing the kids.
It was funny that when Aubrey and Aaron did the egg toss, their eggs must have hit the ground like 15 times each and never broke, but when me and Bryan dropped ours for the 1st time it shattered like someone had stomped on it. Is something fishy about the eggs?!?!?!
You be the judge....
