Ahhhh, Good Times

So, as you all probably know, the Bates' and Grammy just came up to visit. We had a great time, and did a lot of cool things. We went to this children's museum on the first day, which was all hands-on stuff. That was surprisingly fun. We played tons of games, and things of the kind. We made plans to go tubing down this river. I've done it before, and it is pretty fun. We ended up not getting the tubs, and so we just swam and went into the rapids and things of the sort. Well, my feet got cut so bad by the rocks that we tripped over a thousand times. The thing is that the water is so low here that normally the rocks would be a little deeper under water and we could swim over them. Need I say that the water wasn't so low so every little crack we stubbed our toe on or stuff like that. So, I ended up giving Aubrey a piggy back ride basically the whole way up the river. I will have pictures coming shortly, but for Bryan:

happy b-day, sorry if I offended you that I didn't say it on your actual b-day. And you can email me your number. it will be safe with me!

P.S. Robbie check your email more often!

Sincerely,
Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman

My Tennis Tournament.

This past weekend, I did my first tennis tournament. It was in Spartanburg. There were some pretty good people in it. There were players ranked 33, 36, 98, 82, and 107 in the state. Just to name a few. Well, I played against a kid that was ranked in the thousands on Friday, and beat him 6-2, 6-0. Total Beatdown! Well, since i won, i had the possibility of playing on Saturday 3 times. (8, 12, 4). Well, i had to play at 8 and that's early no matter what, but add in the fact that we had to drive 45 mins. to get there, we had to wake up at 6:20. i played at 8, so I played a kid ranked 82 in the state. For those of you who don't know, that is REALLY good. I beat him 6-3, 6-4. Then, I played at 12, and lost 6-1, 6-2. That kid was ranked 36 in the state. He was awesome. So, Dylan beat 35 in the first round, and lost to 23 in the second round. If i just say a number, that is the persons ranking. So, now I should be ranked in the state for beating 2 decent kids, and and losing to an awesome one...

An Unlikely Super Hero...

My super hero is not exactly a super hero. I'm sure you all have heard of him, but here goes nothin'. He is the star of the TV show 24.

What's the first thing you think of when you hear Jack Bauer? Bad language? Runs like a girl? Always wins?

Well, I thing Jack Bauer should be a super hero since he always saves Los Angeles from nuclear bombs, nerve gas, nuclear missiles, etc. He is definitely the "luckiest" person alive in the TV world though. Whether that's because he produces the show 24, which he also stars in, or he is just plain lucky. You be the judge. He always tortures his victims to tell him the truth about a nuclear explosion, or what not. He always seems to get shot in his bullet proof vest. Fishy? Doubt it! He runs like a girl, yes indeed you better believe it, but Mr. Jack always saves the day, so that's why he's my favorite super hero. Robbie and Bryan:

Did you know that IN THE SHOW he used to be a heroin addict? True story.

Go Jack Bauer! He always loses everyone from his tactical team, but he always survives. Those of you 24 watchers, do you remember that episode last year when Jack blows up a plant to get rid of the terrorists(right before they set off the nerve gas to go into the air condition of every household in L.A. he saves them)? Well, he runs his girliest in that segment, so you might want to see it. Last thing here, why do all the terrorist attacks happen in L.A. anyways?...

4th Of July

Here are our fireworks, and our mailbox with firecracker-sparkler things. That pic with the fireworks stacked on a table is only half(.5, 1/2, dos/quatro) of what we had

Cherokee

Cherokee Speedway:

Last night Dad, Dylan and I went to Cherokee Speedway. It was an "interesting" experience even though I've been there before. The track is 1/2 mile long. Here is a summary of the track

I have 5 ways to describe this:

  1. DUSTY

  2. Loud

  3. Dangerous

  4. Smoking & Drinking

  5. Interesting

Right now, you are thinking Cherokee is a dangerous place that you would not want to spend an evening. You are probably right. Cherokee is a race track in Cherokee County, SC. It is a dirt track (hence DUSTY) with red clay being the dirt. They have several races each night. Renegades ( junky cars) are the cheapest cars in the whole circuit, and last night when we went to Cherokee 3 that's right 3 tires came off the cars right into the front of the grandstands. Now if you don't know, a tire can kill someone from a far distance away. EX. A man was working on his car in his DRIVEWAY, when a car somewhere in the area of 120 yards away lost a tire. Well this tire rolled said distance, and hit the man AND KILLED HIM. Now you know the lethal-ness of tires. Anyways, a car comes flying down the race way and loses a tire. Well, the raceway has fences, and walls. The tire comes over the fence (in height) and luckily lands back on the track. This happened three different times. That was scary, and nerve wracking. (hence dangerous). They also have "Young Guns": a under 16 race. A 12 yr. old won that last time. OH, yeah, a 17 yr. old won the Super Late Models last night!

Well, now to the Loud part.

That night just happened to be an All-Star night at the track. So, you have cars from all over the southeast coming to this track, and therefore more cars = more noise. They have late models, and super late models racing in the finale, (at separate times) and those cars are like modified Taurus', and Monte Carlo's, etc. Anyways, there were like 25 of each kind of car, and they made a DEAFENING noise not to mention the dust they kicked up. It was unreal.

Smoking & Drinking:

Fast and simple, almost everyone had a cigarette in one hand, and a beer in another (except for our family and about 50 others). To put this in perspective, there were at least 5 thousand people there, so the chances for inhaling second hand smoke are greatly increased.
