Caswell

Caswell is a baptist church camp. It is located on Oak Island, NC. Here are a few pictures of the camp, not taken by me.

*This is a very long post since we were there for a week, and it was an awesome experience*

The building circled in the picture is the conference center. Off to the right, is the pier since you can probably tell that by the wood color. That is a SMALL picture of the size of the camp. That is MAYBE 1/4 of the campus size. ohhh, where do i start??

Now that you know my schedule, I'm going to "preach" about my preachers.

Large Group Devotions Leader:

Chad Hambrick:

He is a RECOVERED drug addict, and a buff man. I didn't have as much time with him, but he is a great guy.

Worship Preacher:

Afshin Ziafat:

Affy is a CONVERTED Muslim. He is a great preacher! His family disowned him when he announced his decision to become a Christian. He has since led both of his brothers to Christ, and is reworking his relationship with his dad. He has had some relationship problems, but he has persevered through them. He had panic attacks when he was going through these problems, and kept going. A few months ago, his brother had the same kind of panic attacks, and Affy led his brother to Christ by showing his faith. Affy has met a lot of famous people such as (Bryan): Hakeem Olujawan, Chad Childress, and Jason Elam(Broncos Kicker). Affy is truly an inspiration to me and he is an incredible person.

This camp was one of the greatest things that've ever happened to me. If you would like me to "elaborate" on any of my statements, please ask.

And Robbie, NO I'M NOT DEAD. I will post new blogs when I remember more details.

Campus:

There are girls barracks, boys barracks, an indoor basketball gym, tennis courts, putt-putt, pier, huge fields, cafeteria, chaper, Hatch Auditorium, beaches galore, a pool, classrooms, conference rooms, staff barracks, individual houses for the smaller groups.

We had a great time at Caswell (pronounced Cas-wull). We never were in bed by midnight, and were always up at 7:15. We also had towel fights, which didn't turn out so great because me and one of my friends actually got into it during our fight. There are gashes on everyones legs from the fights. That was so much fun. Alderman's watch out!

The Praise Band was sooo good, that a lot of people bought their cd's for 15 bucks. They were probably the best church band that I've ever seen. I will definitely go next year (God willing). I wish I could take Robbie and Bryan with me ( no disrespect Ben, you have to be a rising 7th grader to go) because it was life changing experience.

BYE!

I Am A Champion

Those of you who want to hear about my dad's sporting pains, READ ON.

My Dad, Brother, and me (occasionally my mom) go play tennis about 4 or 5 nights a week. When my mom doesn't come, it's me against my Dad & Brother. They had a streak of about 10 straight matches won against me. Well, that all changed on Sunday night. I beat them. I came from behind and of course WON. But the reaction was the funniest. They were like "no biggie, we just lost one." Well, it's now Saturday, and my streak has become four straight. We will probably go play tonight, and then it will be five straight. But that's not the point.

After each loss, they got more angry. Just like a volcano preparing to erupt. Towards the end of the match, they (Dad and Dylan) were screaming at themselves, hitting balls 50 feet into the air for no apparent reason, smoke coming out of their ears, throwing mini-tantrums,..........etc..... Me? I'm as cool as the other side of the pillow!

Please! Give them a break. They hadn't loss in who knows when, and when I stomp on their faces, they just can't take it. It's like a dog peeing on your bushes, very annoying. You catch my drift? So cut them some slack. Thursday night was the funniest of all, though. Let me tell you why. I was losing all throughout the match, but naturally came back to win. They were both FURIOUS. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen! Dylan was serving horribly, and I was just cracking up watching him lose point after point. Meanwhile, Dad can't play the net to save his life, which is even more funny because I'm on one side of the court and he tries to hit the ball on the other side, but it either goes out by 2 feet, or right back to me. He'll be the first to tell you that he can't volley for anything. So, by this point I'm in so much pain from being hunched over in laughter they manage to get a couple points on me.

A small price to pay for such high-quality comedy!

The best part is that everyday they will talk smack and be all optimistic blah blah blah..............
Then I just eat their game like Lucy eats popcorn..............................................

School's Out!!!

Today was our last day of school!! Yeah, I know: June 8th is really late.... TELL ME ABOUT IT.

I can't wait to go to P.A. (tomorrow). So, today we got out at 11:30. Several kids at our school rented 2 Limos to take them to this Mexican restaurant. Of course, some of the girls were crying since we are going to HIGH SCHOOL. It was a bittersweet day today since we won't get to see the 7th graders for a whole year. That stinks. Anyways, about 10 boys from our grade wore suits and ties for the last day. Now, the fun really starts. The Alderman's are coming to our house today and then we are all going to P.A. Summer is great since I can stay up til 12 o'clock, and wake up at 10 o'clock. Ya know how it goes.

But the fun doesn't last for long, since I have football workouts starting June 18th. Those go all summer long. Our actual mandatory practice starts on July 30th. Then we have 2-a-days until our first scrimmage. Our first game is the day before school starts. So, I will enjoy summer while I can.....
